Support Literacy In Detroit, MI!
We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Juneteenth than with hundreds of diverse books! Our Kids Read is partnering for the 2nd consecutive year with the Ford Motor Company Resource and Engagement Center (FREC) Detroit! OKR will bring books and storytellers to the Juneteenth event. Children will also be invited to participate in the Our Kids Read evening remote virtual Reading Buddies program.

The Detroit Southwest Ford Resource and Engagement Center (FREC) was the first in a global network of community centers Ford Fund operates to help carry out its mission of partnering with communities to move people forward and upward.
The FREC has been a central community hub for the neighborhood for more than a decade bringing nonprofit partners together under one roof to offer critical services and programs. The Center has been a critical gathering place for our partners to deliver services, from a client choice food pantry, legal assistance, income tax preparation, education and job initiatives to hosting cultural celebrations with friends and neighbors each year. And now, free books and storytelling from Our Kids Read!
